General Information of Agricultural Chitosan
Chitosan oligosaccharide (Chitosan Oligosaccharide) is composed of 2-10 glucosamine linked by β-1,4-glycosidic bonds, which has a different regulatory effect on plants than traditional biological pesticides and chemical pesticides, which can not only improve the stress resistance of plants (including disease resistance, cold resistance and drought resistance, etc.), but also promote the growth of crops and improve the quality of crops.
Chitosan Oligosaccharide Molecule Weight Range 90% lower than 1000DA.

Benefits of Agricultural Chitosan
Oligochitosan is known as "plant vaccine", which shows its effect on crops. Chitosan oligosaccharide preparations can enhance the antibacterial and antiviral ability of plants, change the mechanism of plant growth, enhance the immune function of the regulatory system, so as to ensure the normal growth and development of plants.
Chitosan oligosaccharides can improve storage quality, regulate postharvest physiological metabolism, inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and induce disease resistance in fruits and vegetables.
Test 1: Effect on the weight loss rate of strawberries:
Postharvest strawberries lose water, quality and freshness due to the influence of transpiration, which seriously affects the storage quality of fruits. The experimental results showed that the water loss of the control group was faster during storage, especially in the middle and late stages of storage, the water loss rate was accelerated, the peel showed obvious shrinkage, and the mass fraction 1.5% and 2.0% chitosan oligosaccharide treatment showed a certain inhibitory effect on the water loss of strawberry fruit, among which the treatment effect of 1.5% chitosan oligosaccharide was the best. After four or five days of storage, the mass loss rate of fruits in the chitosan oligosaccharide treatment group with a mass fraction of 1.5% was 56.66% and 25.21% lower than that in the control group, respectively.
Test 2: Effect on soluble solids content of strawberries:
The results showed that the soluble solids content of chitosan oligosaccharide treatment and the fruit of the control group showed a downward trend during storage. The soluble solids content and decrease levels of chitosan oligosaccharide-treated fruits were higher than those in the control group, indicating that chitosan oligosaccharides could inhibit the consumption of sugar during strawberry storage and ensure the flavor quality of fruits.
During the whole storage period, the soluble solids content of strawberry fruits in the chitosan oligosaccharide treatment group with a mass fraction of 1.5% was higher than that in other treatment groups and control groups, indicating that 1.5% was the most suitable mass fraction for controlling the reduction of soluble solids content in strawberry fruits.
Test 3: Effect on the content of titratable acid in strawberries:
The experimental results showed that the titratable acid content in the fruit gradually decreased during the harvesting and storage of strawberries, while the three concentrations of chitosan oligosaccharide treatment showed a certain inhibitory effect on the consumption of titratable acid in strawberry fruit, and this inhibitory effect was obvious in the 1.5% chitosan oligosaccharide treatment group, but the difference between the treatment group was not significant.
